Winter is coming to an end. The Hungarian artists want to break up their quarters and move back home. Sissi's confidante Mathilde is overjoyed when she learns that the ringmaster, Lord Butterscotch, will stay in Vienna. Sissi and the orphans also have every reason to be happy: Butterscotch is looking for a new job and is ready to take over the management of the children's home. Franz finally sees the time has come to set the wedding date.
