Martin recalls how he decided to protect Eva and was involved in a gunfight with a hit team assigned to kill her. While she was able to escape, he was shot and mortally wounded. He finally meets Dr. Tenma and tells him that Capek is still involved with the experiments at the Red Rose Mansion which created Johan before finally succumbing to his wounds. Eva is heartbroken at the news of Martin's death and Tenma suggests that she head to Munich for protection under Dr. Reichwein. However, she alights from the train and obtains a gun, planning to kill the monster.
