Episode Description:
Subaru comes to the realization that Garfiel's aggression stems from his insecurity believing that his mother left him because she believed the outside world to be preferential than staying and looking over Garfiel and Frederica in the Sanctuary. Garfiel confesses that his mother died when she was trying to leave due to a landslide and that is the reason he so desperately feels the need to fight back against Subaru's campaign to liberate the Sanctuary. Subaru is able to win in a fight against Garfiel using a power from the Envy Witch he nicknames the "Invisible Providence." Ram convinces Garfiel to confront his past and take the trial again, where he realizes that his mother left the Sanctuary to find his father. Accepting the past, he makes peace with Subaru. Emilia retakes the trial after Subaru promises to go on a proper date with her once it is all over. In the trial, Emilia finds Echidna and reveals she is a witch's daughter named the Frozen Witch.
