Raijuta fights Kenshin but is quickly defeated; nevertheless, he vows to crush him. His student, Yutaro, then challenges Yahiko to a duel, arriving at the dojo in the early morning. His lack of skill is evident when Yahiko realizes he came whilst he is sleepy to win. Feeling sorry he was never taught by Raijuta, Kaoru teaches him. Yutaro reveals his desire to surpass his father as a swordsman, who abandoned becoming a samurai to be a merchant. Raijuta allows Yutaro to train in the Kamiya dojo, where he progresses quickly...
