Philomena’s mother Iris had been given to her father Adam to practice torture skills on, but instead they fell in love and abandoned the Sargant’s to raise Philomena. Lisbeth waited until Philomena was old enough to be useful then sent men to retrieve her and Adam. Iris was murdered and Adam committed suicide to spite Lisbeth.
