Elias is uncertain but supports Chise’s desire to learn. College President Liza Quillyn grants Elias a temporary teaching position to stay close to her. College doctor Alexandra Heath, a Caterpillar Muryan, is intrigued by Chise’s unique physiology. Adolf is surprised Elias left Chise alone with Alexandra and Elias admits the thought of Chise catching him spying fills him with a strange sensation. Adolf confirms this is probably fear.
