dr Livesey reminds Jim that if he goes to sea, he will leave his mother to work at the inn all by herself. Mr. Trelawny then takes Jim home, where he and his mother put the inn back in order. A few days later he actually gets permission from her to go to sea. He drives a carriage to Bristol, where Mr. Trelawny has hired a ship and a crew - of all things, from the one-legged fellow whom Captain Billy seemed to know well...
