When Takashi returns home, he sees Matoba and learns the letter was a request for Takashi to attend another meeting to drive out the person who has been targeting fellow exorcists possessed by a yōkai. Matoba threatens to expose his secret to the Fujiwaras, which makes Takashi even more afraid and distrustful of him but reluctantly accepts.
