As Matori strangles Tetsuo, they both think about their children. When Matori thinks of Nobuto, he relaxes his grip allowing to Tetsuo break free. Acknowledging his failures as a father, a business man, and as a person, Matori suddenly stabs himself in the stomach with a kitchen knife.
