Hayashida has Rei make up an assignment for chemistry class, receiving help from Eisaku Noguchi, president of the After School Bunsen Burners Club. Noguchi creates bars of soap with a mugwort chocolate banana fragrance, though Rei accidentally creates a mugwort grapefruit fragrance as a better idea. Noguchi agrees to help Rei after Hayashida explains Rei's working situation. Afterwards, Hayashida encourages Rei to rely on others, which reminds Rei of the Kawamoto sisters. Rei later arrives at the shogi hall, and he learns that Shimada won the third match of the finals...
