Episode 9
Episode Description:
Kudo remembers the original Reiko making French toast as a reminder of her late mother and how she did not get sad over it. Meanwhile, Yaomay tells Gwen and Reiko what she learned in Hong Kong. Curious about what happens when she consumes something that does not exist, she gulps down a glass of iced coffee that causes her to forget what the three were talking about. Afterwards, Gwen warns Miyuki not to consume anything in the walled city and alerts him that the Kudo here is real. While Reiko and Yaomay are chatting in the latter's apartment, the original Xiaohei drops by to inspect the apartment's fire alarm, and Yaomay ends up adding a frilly inner layer to his vest. He, under the alias Snakeberry, reports his findings to Miyuki's father, emphasizing that the Generic Terra version is not a perfect replication as indicated by Reiko's copy having big differences from the original, and concludes that the Zirconian Project designed to create physical reproductions of deceased people might be possible but only within the walled city. With Reiko being the key to the project, Xiaohei is instructed to not let her outside the city. Outside the city, Yulong warns Miyuki not to continue with his revenge against his father, but Miyuki refuses to back down. That night, Reiko puts on a pair of glasses her original used to wear and sees her memories through the glasses. Meanwhile, Yulong catches Xiaohei after he had secretly installed a listening device to tap into Yulong's conversation with Miyuki, and offers to hire him away from Miyuki's father with a job to kill the copy Reiko.
