Mother's Room. Juliet, Emily's mother, who had always been in poor health, was the darling of the family. As a child she had expressed a wish: to be able to become an adult, marry and have a child and before she died, her wish for her had come true. It is by thinking about this, and seeing in Emily a little of her lost sister, that Elisabeth finally opens Juliet's room, which had been locked since her sister had left New Moon forever.
