"The Wind Hill Story" is just a manuscript that Emily doesn't even try to send to a publisher, but it has a strange impact on everyone who reads it. Of course the names of the characters and places are fictional, but the villagers pass the manuscript to each other, and each one finds a part of himself and of his life in it. One day Emily's manuscript is delivered by post and inside she finds all the messages that readers from faraway cities have written for her, including those from long-time friends Perry and Ilse. Finally, then her Teddy returns to her, who after his studies in Paris has returned to marry her and be with her forever.
