Episode Title:
Indo's Sin
Episode Description:
Yoshiki visits his estranged father, who reveals the Indo leader’s sin: he bargained with the mountain god to revive his wife by sacrificing villagers’ heads, killing a third of the village, while the revived wife’s head—Hichi-san—died again and became a talisman; Hikaru’s father Kohei later tried to stop the ritual and died mysteriously. Yoshiki’s father comforts him, and Yoshiki later finds a 1500s painting, Gehenna, depicting Hikaru’s innards. At school, Yoshiki opens up about the real Hikaru, triggering Hikaru to nearly transform into Nonuki and attack him before breaking free, an incident witnessed by Asako. Distraught, Hikaru confides in Rie, who cannot bring herself to exorcise him, and after a mysterious woman appears at Rie’s house, Hikaru accepts himself as a monster with no human home, yet still returns to the Indo house to greet his mother.
