Peter Ratri explains how his older brother James took the alias "Minerva" and tried to help children escape the farms after he discovered that the children were their own descendants, and not the progeny of those who fought against the contract with the demons. Ratri refuses to accept that the world can be changed and kills himself before anyone can move. His death is later reported to the demon Queen and nobles. Emma forgives Isabella and the moms and invites them to cross into the human world with the children...
