Jeanne is conflicted over her concern for the vampires Chloe and Jean-Jacques and her duty as a bourreau to kill them, but Vanitas pleads with her to help him save them. As Astolfo recovers consciousness, he recalls how he and his sister befriended a vampire boy who then killed his entire family and household in revenge for his own family being killed by the Chasseurs' paladins.
