Shampoo explains that, according to Chinese Amazon Law, if an Amazon is defeated by an outsider, and that outsider is a woman, then she must give that woman the Kiss of Death and promptly kill her. However, if the outsider is a man, then the Amazon must marry that man. Shampoo immediately starts fawning over Ranma, much to the anger and dismay of Akane, who furiously declares that her engagement to Ranma is cancelled. While Akane wonders whether or not Ranma's feelings for her are genuine, Ranma is torn between Shampoo's infatuation for his male form and bloodthirst for his female form...
