However, the town mayor's goons suddenly steal their vehicles and abduct Rook and Annie while the guys find Nader. Lunk discovers that Nader was killed and all but declared a non-person by the community for advocating passive resistance to the Invid. The Invid assault the town. To prevent it from being destroyed, the mayor gives back the team's vehicles and also presents Lunk with a weapon Nader had hidden for years, which he uses to fight off the Invid attack.
