On a boat trip down the Nile, Papyrus and Teti come across a golden sarcophagus. Unsuspecting anything bad, they have him heaved on board. Shortly thereafter, strange things happen: because water is seeping in through the ship's hull, Papyrus has to dive to inspect the damage. He is torn down by a whirlpool and ends up in the realm of a water spirit. Teti, who meanwhile opens the sarcophagus, frees the shadow of Ombos, which brings death and annihilation. She and Ratofer, who has rushed to her side, are immediately turned to stone by the uncanny power...
