Marie, having known Elizabeth right before the tournament at Gideon started, becomes determined to save her from Franklin, who reveals that he surrounded the arena with a barrier and if players attempt to break through, the monsters under Franklin's control will destroy Gideon. While Marie goes on to save Elizabeth on her own, Ray discovers that under-leveled players like himself can walk through the barrier safely, as the barrier was only meant to hold high-ranking players that could partake in the tournament's matches...
