Nodoka decides to let Asumi stay with her so that she can be close to Rate, managing to convince her parents Asumi is Rate's owner who has traveled to Japan from abroad. Nodoka helps Asumi to understand Earth customs as she has only been alive for one day and finds everything new and strange. The next day Nodoka injures herself protecting Asumi; when Asumi asks her why she goes to so much trouble to help out, Nodoka tells her that her experiences from being ill changed her and she wanted to repay the kindness she was given...
