Back to the present, it is the new moon and with Towa's power diminished, Setsuna orders her to take shelter at Kaede's home. In the occasion, Kaede reveals to Towa that she lived many years with Rin until her disappearance that occurred just after she gave birth to the twins. Seeing a Dream Butterfly passing nearby, Towa chases after it all the way to the Sacred Tree of Ages, where she meets Riku...
