On the day of the transaction, the meeting is arranged late at night at the Suzaku Group headquarters. Laurent escorts Liu and Chen to meet Akemi in her office, accompanied by Ishigami and Edamura. Liu presents a briefcase filled with stock certificates while Akemi presents a check for ¥100 billion. After prolonged silence by Edamura and Laurent, Laurent's gang, posing as a SWAT team led by Kudou, storm the office and "confiscate" the check and briefcase as evidence. During the stand-off, Laurent swipes Liu's poisoned ring and stabs him with it...
