In Sapporo, Sugimoto and his allies (including Hijikata and others) uncover that the serial killer behind the recent string of prostitute murders may be mimicking the Jack the Ripper killings in London. Using a tip from Ishikawa Takuboku, they pinpoint the next predicted crime scene: the Sapporo Beer Factory. The group splits into three-man teams to set up a trap. Meanwhile, Ushiyama’s team mistakes fellow soldier Usami for the culprit, leading to chaos — and a celebratory firework signal is mistakenly set off to announce “the killer’s been found,” adding confusion to an already tense hunt.
