After taking refuge from a meteor shower while watching a herd of wild horses, Conan, a young barbarian in Cimmeria, and his grandfather find that the meteorites are made of a strange metal. The village collects all the meteorites they can find so Conan's father, the blacksmith, can forge many tools and weapons to sell at the following year's merchant gathering. Among the items forged is a sword made for Conan and placed under a large stone until he is strong enough to lift it and claim the weapon...
