The next day, Reiko reads a mystery novel that Kujirai B used to read and finds a diamond ring behind the book. She and Kudo go to work sleep-deprived to talk about the novel, and after work they head to a used bookstore that Xiaohei works at to pick up the next volume, only to find it misprinted and instead, Reiko picks up a picture book. Sometime later, Reiko is given tickets to watch an old movie starring the actress Yangli, who is revealed to be Yaomay's mother. Yaomay recalls the time she lost her sense of self trying to be like her mother. Feeling down after being reminded about Yangli, Reiko cheers her up by bringing her egg tarts, and letting her know that she talked about being her absolute self. The next day, Reiko and Yaomay go shopping and Yaomay happily buys a pair of zirconia earrings. In a dream, Kudo recalls the time he and Reiko visited the teahouse for the first time together and it was then that he fell in love with Kowloon. Meanwhile, Miyuki is taken to the walled city by a cab driver, and it is revealed that the Generic Terra version of the walled city is only visible to certain people at the site of the now-demolished second walled city.
