While at the academy, he is tormented by the school bully trio led by the malicious Baron, yet proves he is better than the other students by achieving the Medal of Excellence. As a result, Baron and his friends plot revenge by trying to kill Lance and end up destroying the school, only for the poor latter to take the fall and end up having to repair the school over the summer.
