Hera and Hades testify to Zeus’s virtues and faults as a ruler; Zeus is ultimately sentenced to Tartarus after confessing that he purposefully neglected Seraphim. Heron and his friends return to his home and discover an underground chamber, where a vision of Zeus says that Heron is prophesized to save the world from Typhon’s return. Evios parts ways with them upon hearing that a smuggler associate has escaped imprisonment. Seraphim confronts the Tree-bender, who killed Gorgo even after she correctly answered the riddle to cross his gorge. He kills the Tree-bender but is wounded.
