However, Ash loses patience when Brawly goes surfing instead of battling. Finally, he gets his match, where Brawly's Makuhita evolves into Hariyama. Ash gets carried away and forces Treeko to battle when it is practically done for, and they lose. Ash and his friends take Treeko to a Pokemon center. May, Max, and Brock all tell Ash that he doesn't know when to quit, and that he DID get carried away. Ash gets angry and runs out to the beach. When he's there, he learns that Brawly isn't surfing just to have fun, but to train his pokemon as well.
