He recognizes something - a nebula in the Azure quadrant he'd been by years ago. It seems Hunk had rescued some kids on a planet near there years ago, considering them his little buddies. The team urges Hunk to go for a return visit without them. He agrees. But, Lance picks up a signal that Doom ships are about and so the remaining team decides to stick around in case Hunk gets ambushed and whatnot.
