Rikuo once again uses the Matoi technique, this time with Itaku, and they are able to defeat Tsuchigumo. Tsuchigumo leaves so he can gather his strength to challenge Nue. At the Nuegaike Pond, Hagoromo Gitsune is about to give birth to Nue. Suddenly, although he is too weak to fight, Nurarihyon appears before her asking questions about his son's murder. Distracted by the surroundings, Nurarihyon is surrounded by enemies. Karasu Tengu, who has followed Nurarihyon rescues him but they are blinded by Yosuzume. Nurarihyon is stabbed by the Maō's Hammer and identifies his attacker as Minagoroshi Jizo. Kidomaru informs the rest of the Kyoto yōkai that Hagoromo Gitsune is going on a labor.
