With the demise of Tenchi the Great, the political situation began to change dramatically. Inukami, who was rescued by Marimo and healed from his wounds, is frustrated by the repeated orders to deliver miscellaneous goods to the village, and heads for Kyoto again. He was accused of raising his hand to serve as the governor of the country and was imprisoned. Coincidentally, he met again in prison with Saruta, who was preparing to raise an army as Prince Oama's subordinate, and escaped from Otsukyo with Prince Oama's son, Prince Takachi.
