Conan finds Master Joseph's crime scene strange and believes Theodore is being framed. The boat suddenly loses power and Lucas, Joseph's grandson, is stabbed in the dark. After talking with Willard and searching the rooms for Theodore, Conan puts Richard to sleep. In both Master Joseph and Shannon’s murders, the killer attempted to frame Theodore; first by leaving his flower near Joseph’s crime scene, then unlocking the storage room allowing Theodore to escape after killing Shannon as he witnessed the suspect toss the first weapon into the sea. As for Lucas, he never mentioned his attacker using a flashlight when he was attacked in the bathroom, prompting Conan to declare that not only did he stab himself, but he is also, in fact, Master Joseph and Shannon’s killer. As evidence, Lucas is an artist and carrying bread is common as it can be used as an eraser; he unintentionally dropped a bread crumb in a pool of Joseph's blood. Lucas confesses; he is in love with his cousin Suzanna, but Joseph rejected his proposal for marriage with her and humiliated him. Theodore tells Suzanna he did indeed plan to avenge his father but ending up falling in love with her instead; he accepted a much better future with her over petty revenge.
