Goro and Toshi are able to learn why manual baseball has lasted so long after the death of the oldest Saotome sibling. Seeing no choice, Goro heads directly to Kaido on a training bike to talk to the teams manager. Instead he meets with Egashira who says if he can pass a test from him, he'll make sure Kaido doesn't cut him. Goro faces the varsity team's #4 batter in an attempt to show he can strike out any one.
